The directors

Vision and mission

Remetal Industries is owned by three directors. Together they set one vision and one mission: return aluminium and copper to use, in a way that helps the environment and the people around Faridnagar.

Aluminium and copper ingots side by side

Vision

Aluminium and copper should stay in use. Less ore taken from the ground. A cleaner share left for the next generation. That is the vision of this yard.

Mission

Buy aluminium scrap and copper scrap. Keep the two metals apart. Melt each one on its own. Sell an ingot a foundry can use again. Weigh in the open, and give the people who collect scrap a steady place to sell.

Published facts

How recycling helps the environment

  • Aluminium

The Ministry of Mines, in the National Non-Ferrous Metal Scrap Recycling Framework, 2020, records that recycling aluminium takes about 95 percent less energy than making primary aluminium. The International Aluminium Institute has published the same finding.

  • Copper

The International Copper Association states that recycled copper needs about 85 percent less energy than copper from a mine, and that copper can be recycled again without losing its properties.

  • The country’s direction

That 2020 framework asks for a formal recycling ecosystem, for the six steps of reduce, reuse, recycle, recover, redesign and remanufacture, and for end-of-life metal to stay out of landfills. India has set a national aim of net zero by 2070.

These figures are published facts about the metals. They are not a count of tonnes or emissions from this yard. Remetal’s help is the work: scrap in, the two metals kept apart, ingot out.

Vision

Sataynder Choudhary

Director

Our vision is that metal already made should not be treated as waste. Every load we take at Faridnagar is aluminium or copper that can serve again, and ore that can stay in the ground. The Ministry of Mines calls metals a shared inheritance. We hold this yard to that idea, for the people who will need the metal next.

Mission

Nargender Choudhary

Director

Our mission is the day’s work. We buy aluminium scrap and copper scrap, we say what we see, and we weigh in the open. The two metals never share a heat. The ingot goes to a foundry, a fabricator or a trader. The people who collect the scrap, and the workshops that melt the ingot, are the community this partnership is here to serve.

The environment

Haji Sharif

Director

The help we give nature is this loop. Published figures say recycling aluminium uses about 95 percent less energy than making it from ore, and recycled copper uses about 85 percent less energy than copper from the mine. We do not invent a saving of our own. We keep the metal in circulation, out of a dump, and apart from the other metal.
